Associations and networks at ICM
Social Iniciatives
PhD students and early career researchers of the ICM are committed to the conservation and the sustainable use of the ocean. They are organized and active in the development of different activities to strengthen young marine scientists community in and out the lab.

The Espai Mediterrani (Mediterranean space) is a joint initiative from multiple associations and entities working for ocean health and social awareness. It is meant as a meeting point for creating links and synergies to align strategies towards the protection of our seas. The ICM supports this initiative by creating networks and impulsing projects.

Catsharks is a non profitable organization devoted to the study and conservation of sharks and rays and their ecosystems through research and education. It promotes research and outreach projects, organizes courses and workshops and collaborates with other institutions in the conservation of these species.

Mar de Ciència (Sea of Science) is an association created by ICM scientists and technicians, with the aim of raise awareness about the important role of the ocean in our planet and promote ethical and sustainable science and technology research related to ocean observation.
