Estudiante predoctoral

Biologist, oceanographer and formal education teacher who combines her scientific research studies with educational research studies.
Her current educational research is focused on the development of efective tools, based on the Ocean Literacy principles accepted by UNESCO, to improve the understanding of the Ocean by lay people and most specially, by scholars. She has focused her scientific research on the structure and dynamics of benthic communities (specially those dominated by gorgonians) by means of Remote Operated Vehicle (ROVs) both in the Weddell Sea and in the Mediterranean Sea. She has focused on the understanding of several of their aspects such as their distribution, growth and reproduction. Her research activity is also focused on the relation among fishing activities and the degradation of fragile benthic ecosystems and the establishment of ways to mitigate the impact and restore them.
