Sr. Oscar Chic (male) received B.Sc. in Physics from Universitat of Barcelona (Spain) in 1990 and MS in Remote Sensing and GIS in 1995 (IEEC). He is at present in charge of the Coastal Ocean Observatory based on Barcelona beaches and promoted by the ICM-CSIC as response to the deficit of medium-long term research marine stations along the Spanish coast and, more specifically, along the Mediterranean coast. His research interests include data science applied to remote sensing data, video monitoring systems to monitor beaches and GIS systems. More than 10 years of research activity participating in several national and international projects (ALGERS, OMEGA, MATER, HABES, MAMA...) and co-author of 15 research publications.
