I am a bioinformatician with a Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics and a Master’s in Biomedical Data Science. My background has given me a strong interest in working with complex biological data and in developing computational approaches to extract meaningful nsights from it. I joined the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) in 2022 as an intern, where I completed my bachelor’s thesis. Since then, I have continued working at the institute, combining this role with my master’s studies before joining full-time as a bioinformatician.
I am currently working on Single-Cell Amplified Genomes (SAGs) of uncultivated marine protists. My work focuses on developing and improving bioinformatics pipelines to process, clean and analyse genomic data from microorganisms that have never been cultured before. Through this research, we aim to obtain high-quality genomes that help us better understand their genes, biological functions and evolutionary placement in the tree of life.
