My research highlights the importance of culturing marine bacteria as a valid and powerful way to look at relevant ecological questions while combining it with sequencing technologies such as metabarcoding, genomics and metagenomics. I am interested in the diversity of marine bacteria, the lifestyles of copiotrops, especially the ones that react to sudden changes with fast growth, and the characterization of novel taxa.
