The Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is the most multidisciplinary research institute on marine science in Spain, and the leading scientific organization in Southern Europe. The role and the team
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and highly motivated Postdoc to process onland seismic data at the ICM. The successful candidate will be integrated in the Barcelona Center for Subsurface Imaging (B-CSI), and will process seismic datasets acquired across a mud volcano system in Taiwan.
Job description
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Independently processing onland seismic data acquired with a VibroSeis.
- Development and validation of seismic models.
- Geophysical and geological interpretation of seismic data.
- Improvement of seismic techniques.
- Article writing and dissemination of scientific results.
Requirements
Professional experience
- PhD in physics or geophysics.
- More than 10 years experience in seismic processing.
- Experience in seismic data acquisition.
- Experience with Radex seicmic processing program.
- Capacity of working independently.
Competences and IT skills
- Very good interpersonal communication, networking and team playing skills
- A well-organized person with attention to details.
- Proactive, flexible, and problem-solving attitude.
The offer
We are offering a contract with the following conditions:
- Estimated annual gross salary: Salary will range between 35.000€ and 45.000€ commensurate with qualifications and experience, and consistent with CSIC pay scales.
