My research has mainly focused on the biology of gelatinous plankton, specifically jellyfish. I have worked in the cultivation of jellyfish and in an experimental line of their physiology and characteristics of their life cycle. I have also worked on the consolidation of a coastal management plan to mitigate the impact of the presence of jellyfish in coastal areas, coordinating an observation network and creating a database of observations of different species of jellyfish. I have worked on the creation of first aid protocols against jellyfish stings and on the creation and development of prevention tools, such as the development of identification material, sting protocols, training and dissemination talks for all types of public and in the creation and maintenance of the iMedjelly App as a tool for prevention, mitigation and citizen science related to the presence of jellyfish.
