My research focuses on the evaluation of a marine reserve established with the aim to recuperate a highly overexploited marine recourse, the Norway lobster (Nephrops norvegicus). It consists in the analyses of the population and the community of the area prior to the protection and afterwards. Concurrently, I will study the dispersion and connectivity of N. norvegicus to observe if the reserves are adequate for this organism, including acoustic sensors and visual tags. ROV videos will be performed to visualize how the seabed has been recuperated and population models will be performed to analyze and study where the N. norvegicus use to established in the Mediterranean Sea depending on the characteristics of the habitat. Finally, the objective is to write a proposal of small and connected marine reserves along the Catalan coast.
