The aim of my thesis is contribute to understanding how volatile compounds are a fundamental functional part of the pelagic ecosystem. and advance in obtaining information to diagnose or predict its distribution in the global ocean. I would study the relationship between volatiles and abundance, photobiology and photochemistry of the different components of a coral reef.Investigating the extent to which genetic expression explains the variation of volatiles throughout day-night cycles.
