My project is on sex determination in fish due to environmental changes such as infections and temperature. I look at the epigenetical mechanisms, miRNA, that are altered after environmental stress during the sex differentiation in zebrafish and seabass. I take care of the fish and ensure their fixed growing conditions, after which I have to sacrifice them and perform different molecular biological experiments, such as RT-qPCR and RNAseq as well as classical methodologies such as cell culture and FISH.
