Developing early warning systems for improved microalgae production and anaerobic digestion - PRODIGIO

The Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) of Barcelona is looking for a predoctoral candidate to work on the PRODIGIO Project, a blue bioenergy initiative awarded by the EU Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation action.


The contracted personnel will be in charge of microbiomics and chemical fingerprinting analyses. Furthermore, she/he will need to learn and apply bioinformatics tools and advanced methods in computational ecology.


  • Having a degree in Biology, Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or a Bachelor's degree of at least 300 ECTS credits or a Master's degree or equivalent at least 300 ECTS credits or a Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Having finished the studies no more than four years before the application for recruitment is formalized in the application is formalized in the job bank application. 
  • Have an average academic record, on a scale of 0-10, equal to or higher than 8.5.
  • Not having been hired as a predoc in this or any other entity, for a period of more than four years, or six years in the case of people with disabilities.
