Transfering knowledge

ICM Transfer

We promote knowledge exchange in the Blue Economy sector

The ICM-CSIC is involved in the evaluation and exploitation of its research results through its own knowledge transfer strategy: ICM Transfer. We are committed to transferring our results through ad hoc channels with the intention of reaching the stakeholders for the benefit of not only our society but also our planet. Therefore, ICM Transfer adapts to the quintuple helix innovation framework in which research centers, industry, public administration, and society jointly commit to environmental conservation.

Our vision: Bridging the gap between knowledge and action by fostering action-oriented knowledge transfer for the benefit of society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our mission: To be a key player in the Blue Economy and the innovation ecosystem at local, regional, and national levels, while becoming a leader in the Mediterranean region.

Transfer channels

Collaborations

At ICM Transfer, we work to create links between relevant stakeholders and scientific projects, promoting mutual knowledge exchange in both the public and private sectors. We collaborate through R&D projects, providing technological support, acting as scientific advisors through industrial PhDs, and via other transfer channels. Here you can find some featured examples.

Scientific and Technical Capabilities

We have a dossier that summarizes our scientific-technical capabilities to solve socially relevant problems, addressing the needs of a wide variety of end-users, including public administrations, public and private companies, and the general public. These capabilities are grouped into 4 main blocks:

  • Sustainability of renewable living resources
  • Oceanic and climatic observation and modeling
  • Biodiversity, functioning, and health of marine ecosystems
  • Evaluation of marine geological risks

These blocks derive from the excellent research conducted by ICM-CSIC and demonstrate its strong social commitment.
