I am a marine geologist and my research is focussed on subduction zones dynamics, particularly fluid / solid cycling and earthquakes occurrence, not only to advance our understanding of these complex environments, but also to provide society with a better characterization of the multiple hazards which could generate from the subduction process (i.e. earthquakes, landslides, fluid expulsion, etc). To address these objectives, I focus on three main topics: i) mud volcanoes, their products and how they interact with the plates’ interface, ii) monitoring of fluid seepage structures and their connection with subduction earthquakes, iii) subduction zones paleoseismology and event stratigraphy.
