The PLOME project, led by the University of Girona with the participation of the ICM-CSIC, has tested new technologies that will allow the deployment of stations and vehicles to monitor the marine environment and provide real-time data. 

This is the main conclusion of a study led by the ICM-CSIC that has applied for the first time a "doughnut" analysis to assess the situation of this activity in the Mediterranean.

A new study by the UB and the ICM-CSIC reveals that the participation of volunteers in citizen science projects is an effective tool to help conserve corals and gorgonians, which are highly threatened in the Mediterranean due to global change.

With an expected attendance of 1,500 people, the Conference, which will bring the global ocean community to Barcelona, will feature more than 40 international speakers.

The work, in which the ICM-CSIC participated, was recently been published in the journal Nature Reviews Earth and Environment.

The initiative, coordinated by several CSIC centers, aims to advance the understanding of the combined effect of pollutants and climate change in different marine environments.
