In the Service of Marine Cultures we have facilities to obtain filtered and sterilized sea water and to prepare the enriched marine medium for to grow and transfer aseptically the cultures. These marine cultures are necessaries for experiments and development of numerous research projects.

Throughout my scientific career I have worked with eolic dunes before to be focused with marine microalgae, especially on coccolithophores. These haptophytes, nowadays, have been highly appreciated because they are important actors in the geochemical carbon cycle, which is considered a keystone in the global climatic change. Moreover the Mediterranean, where we mainly made our studies, with their high physicochemical variations is considered an interesting laboratory to study these taxons. So, our research have been internationally appreciated and every day more cited in literature dealing with classification and life cycle studies of coccolithophores.
