My research focuses on the study of the biology and ecology of marine zooplankton, in particular copepods. Field studies extend from the Mediterranean Sea to the Arctic, and aim to address the role of zooplankton in marine trophic food webs and biogeochemical cycles. Moreover, we keep zooplankton cultures in the lab and conduct experimentation on several aspects of their behavior and ecophysiology (feeding, metabolism, growth, fecundity, ageing...), trying to understand how zooplankton live and the way different life history traits cope with environmental constraints.
