The photo competition is promoted by the MPA Engage project, an initiative co-financed by the European Interreg Med programme that aims to strategically manage protected marine areas for mitigating the effects of change on the Mediterranean.

Obtaining this accreditation implies the financing of one million euros per year for 4 years and the endowment of 14 predoctoral contracts of four year’s duration each.

The decision goes against international agreements aimed at guaranteeing the health of the ocean

Clara Ruiz-González, postdoctoral researcher at the ICM, has received the PIUS FONT I QUER award of Sant Jordi 2020 Awards, given by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans.
